Essential double disc compilation of brilliant afro beat and afro funk from 1970s Nigeria!

This first volume of Nigeria 70 was one of the last releases put out by the first incarnation of Strut records, and when the labe disappeared for a while this release disappeared with it, leaving many people without a copy, so we're delighted the newly reinvigorated Strut have chosen to put this ace compilation out again to give more people a chance to get a copy!

Super funky, gritty 1970s afro grooves from all the key Nigerian bands and musicians including Segun Bucknor, Peter King, Tony Allen, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Orlando Julius, The Funkees, King Sunny Ade, and of course Fela Kuti!

Comes with extensive sleeve notes, sleeve scans and photos!
