Third entry in their Psychedelique series, it pulls a line from 50s studio exotica through soundtrack jazz and into present-day revivalists, checking Martin Denny, Yma Sumac and Les Baxter, then later turns from playfully christened sound selectees The Bongolian, Los Bitchos and Ixtahuele. Leonard Nimoy's 'Music To Watch Space Girls By' sets a firstly playful tone, before Lalo Schifrin, Quincy Jones and Mort Garson lend orchestral/library weight. Sequencing leans on contrast, as bachelor pad kitsch rubs agsaint sharper modern edits, mapping a style revived in waves.
