




































Studio One DJ’s 2 is the classic Studio One collection from Soul Jazz Records. Described as ‘The University of Reggae’ by Chris Blackwell, Studio One, and founder Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd are by far the most-important names in the history of reggae music.
Originally released in 2006 and out of print for more than 15 years. This is the first ever colour vinyl edition of this classic album.
This album is newly fully remastered for vinyl by Jason Goz at Transition and pressed at Optimal in Germany.
The album features classic and rare cuts from some of the finest toasters ever to come out of Jamaica. The album features classic tracks from DJ greats Dennis Alcapone, Lone Ranger, Prince Jazzbo, King Stitt alongside super-rare tracks from artists such as Bobby Jackie, Jah Jesco and Little Joe all recorded under Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd’s supervision at the legendary Jamaican record company.
Musical backing comes from the legendary in-house bands – The Skatalites, The Sound Dimension, Soul Vendors and Soul Defenders – who provide the classic Studio One rhythms so influential in the history of Reggae.
As well as eighteen killer tracks compiled by Mark Ainley (Honest Jons), the album comes with sleevenotes by Steve Barrow (Blood and Fire/Rough Guide to Reggae) and photography by Dennis Morris making this another essential Studio One Reggae release for connoisseurs of Reggae and newcomers alike.
