Once a whispered rumour among modern soul collectors, it resurfaced again in the mid-2000s when UK digger Ian Wright stumbled across a copy on eBay and famously insisted on hearing it over the phone before bidding, an edge case of "insane rarity" in the label's words. What Wright found was a luminous, velvet-textured groove steeped in Californian optimism and Haas-doubled humour, led by the late Davis' dead-in-your-tracks vocals. Long locked away on private press, it has become one of the most coveted artefacts of the era, thanks to a full licensing job by James Pogson, restoring its rightful place in modern soul mythology.
