Sly & Robbie meet Dubmatix. The Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist got his hands on original Sly & Robbie tracks and spent months crafting this new album, "Overdubbed". Meeting somewhere between Adrian Sherwood's Dub Syndicate output and the later works of Lee Perry, Dubmatix's crystal clear production brings sharp rays of colour through the usual dub haze. Sly & Robbie litter the tracks with their trademark drum and bass rhythm styles respectively, and the whole thing has a heady cohesion which makes the whole experience quite a transportative and overwhelming affair. It's another perfect addition to S&R's flawless cannon and a brilliant introduction to anyone unfamiliar with Dubmatix.
