Founded in a front room with DIY gear, the professed Ariwa grew into a cornerstone of UK reggae, chipping away at lovers rock with many a dub-scientific implement, across hundreds of releases; Johnny Clarke, Sandra Cross, Kofi and Horace Andy emerge here on this multifarious product, namechecking the studio's exploratory streak. A full and comprehensive retroaction, it sallies between eras and moods, but a throughline remains: clean, rasped-up drums, never-enough echo, and amorous vocal backing tracks, best exemplified in Kofi's 'Losing Time For Love' and bonus bit 'Everytime I See My Baby'.
