Drawing on unreleased Trugoy vocals and a broad bench of trusted collaborators (DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Supa Dave West, Jake One), the LP juggles playful wordplay with weight, over themes of memory, absence, continuity and elegy.

Guest spots from Nas and Common to Bilal and Slick Rick feel purposeful; citing a long, generous, and occasionally off-track drive; proof of the vital sign that is the voice of De La Soul.
