Outstanding trip through the dubbed-to-fuck gothic techno imaginations of this UK electronic production duo, making for a seriously essential listen. Plus it's the first LP from one of the UK's most exciting young labels. Very highly recommended!
From the abrasive textures and industrial techno gunk of label-mate Regis, to the darkest and most introverted Dub influences of the Basic Channel/Chain Reaction engineers, the deepest percussive dubstep of Mala or Shackleton, the crackling swing of Burial's dark garage and the chill synthesis of electronic drone and metal guitar explored by folks like Stephen O'Malley - the four sides of this album deliver intense, glassy-eyed landscapes of massive low-end, cut with streaks of echoing synthesis and eruptions of tribalised percussion, recorded live and painstakingly pieced together in the studio.
