This is the first ever retrospective of one of New York’s most revered of all producers, Bob Blank who recorded classics by Arthur Russell, Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess, Sun Ra and many more at his Black Tapes Studio.
Strut have collaborated with Dj History diggers Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton on this one which traces the history of Bob Blank's independent studio, Blank Tapes, one of the city’s most important creative dens during the vibrant arts scene of the mid-‘70s to mid-‘80s!
Features disco and rare groove classics such as Milton Hamilton’s ‘Crystalized’, anthems including Fonda Rae’s ‘Over Like A Fat Rat’ and lesser known Blank classics from the vaults from Debby Blackwell and Mikki!
