'Splazsh' picks up from 'Hazyville' left off although the fog seems to have lifted slightly, his sounds are less submerged than before, but still sticky and close — a signature combination of exuberance and introversion, luminescence and puzzlement. The album embodies various different styles from ambient blissful House, thumpin' Detroit Techno, R&B, Hip hop in a way only Actress could do. The tracks on 'Splazsh' are studies of different records that he loves. 'Hubble' which we've heard on his previously annoymous limited imprint 'Thriller' is a study of Prince's 'Erotic City' and 'Human' was a study by Human League's 'human' produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis all twisted up into Actress' formidable style.
