    A real doozy here pulled direct from Mike Dunn's personal archive and served up on the great Dark Entires label as yet another fine bit of dance music history documenting. Strikes Again is an urgent side of K Alexi's Chicago output. The six tracks, recorded between 1988 and 1990, crackle with overdriven 808s and blazing sirens over loose-limbed breakbeats shaped for the famous Chicago club, Music Box floor. 'Imported Taste' pairs deep, emotive pads with rolling conga rhythms, while 'Suckas Be Ready' hits hard as a classic hip-house workout featuring MCD-TA. Disco snippets clash with crunchy 909s on 'Muzic Box', pushing groove into outright pressure. This is the sound of Chicago's underground at full tilt.
