



































After having recorded early classics like Afro-Cuban for Blue Note in the mid-1950s, trumpeter Kenny Dorham made an invigorating return to the label in 1961 with Whistle Stop, a set of Dorham originals performed by a top-shelf hard bop quintet with Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone, Kenny Drew on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums.
