Parisian poet, painter, actor, and prolific self-taught musician, Lizzy Mercier Descloux was a influential character in the late 70s New York underground. Her debut solo album, Press Color, from '79 (reissued here on Light In The Attic), revealed a punk-funk sound that positioned her as the French answer to the UK group The Slits or New York’s own ESG.
