Formed in Augusta, Georgia in 1965, the Georgia Prophets group was led by husband-and-wife duo Billy and Barbara Scott and they built a reputation as a powerful live act and recorded several singles. In 1968, they released their only album, Fever, mixing originals and earlier cuts, now reissued worldwide for the first time. 'I Got The Fever' from the album remains a true classic and an uplifting, floor-filling anthem beloved by both the Carolinas' Beach Music crowd and the UK Northern Soul scene alike, which is where it is said to have been one of the most requested tracks of all time. Yet The Georgia Prophets were far more than a one-hit wonder, as the rest of this wonderful album proves beyond doubt.
