      Forbidden Fruit is Nina Simone's second studio album originally released on Colpix! Produced by Carl Lampley in 1961, This record put Nina in the limelight to fame with her ability to crossover jazz and soul perfectly especially the Oscar Brown Jnr. compositions of  "Rags And Old Iron", "Work Song" (feat. the great Nat Adderley) and the last and title track "Forbidden Fruit" which fully seals her legacy onwards! Her work with Brown Jr. shows her admiration for his work as a lyricist, as well as his roles as a singer and activist. Timeless and worth a check!
