Dylan's first album recorded in Nashville using the cream of the city's A-list session players - country musicians who had an affinity with rock.
Many of these musicians appear throughout Soul Jazz Records' Delta Swamp Rock series. They include guitarist Joe South as well as Wayne Moss, Ken Buttrey, Jerry Kennedy and Charlie McCoy. These last four formed the group Area Code 615 (and later Barefoot Jerry) as a direct consequence of their involvement in these Dylan sessions.
