Impulse, 66. This is a fantastic live album of one of Archie Shepp's most solid early bands, comprised of the great trombonist Roswell Rudd, bassists Donald Garrett (also heard on Kulu Se Mama with Coltrane, but not much of anywhere else) and Lewis Worrel, and the explorative while solidly swinging drummer, Beaver Harris. This is among the most listenable and traditionally inspired avant-garde jazz records you can find.
