1990 UK Techno rarity! Futuristic, far-sighted Techno - these recordings still sound fresh today!
N.A.D aka Mustafa Ali is the UK's answer to Elbee Bad, or The Burrell Brothers. Why haven't you ever heard of him? Well, originally "Dawn Of A New Age" was released on an impossibly tiny run, and distributed by Rough Trade until they folded virtually on its release sending this gem into obscurity.
Heavily influenced by Detroit's Derrick May as well as Chicago deep house pioneers Adonis and Harry Dennis, "Dawn Of The Age" is warm, melodic, and bursting with ideas and energy. Our personal favourites have to be "Five Pillars", with Ali's own half-spoken, rhythmic "US" twang, over a vibrant bleep-ridden NYC-style beat, and the dark rave of "Let There Be Light". All so so so good. One of British dance music's best kept secrets!
