Debut album. With the release of his debut album Brown Sugar he re-wrote the path of modern R&B. Hailed as the creator of the neo-soul sound, Brown Sugar was a departure from the sometimes automated sound of R&B in the mid 90's. Although the album was slow to gain mainstream recognition it has proved to be an album with true longevity.
