Trinity, along some of his friends and biggest names of Reggae music : Barrington Levy, Ken Boothe, Errol Dunkley or Johnny Clarke. Wade Brammer aka Trinity was born in Kingston in 1954. As many kids from the ghetto, he had a pretty rough childhood. His mother brought him to the Alpha Boy School but he quickly run away. He started to practice his DJ skills in various Kingston’ sound-systems and did his best to emulate Big Youth, his biggest influence. His carrer really took off with the help of Dillinger, when they made their ways to Channel One studio. He started to work for various producer and recorded his biggest hit for Joe Gibbs in 1977, Three Piece Suit, over Marcia Aitken's version of Alton Ellis I’m Still In Love. Later versions of this riddim includes Althea & Donna international hits as well as Sean Paul !

Trinity was in his prime when he began to work with Blackbeard. He soon became an honorary member of Blackbeard’s crew, the Ring Craft Posse. Together they recorded a bunch of tunes over the years. Some of them are still unreleased to this day. Patate Records dug deep into Blackbeard’s catalogue to select 12 smoking tracks featuring Trinity at his best. He shows us why he was one of the most popular DJ in the second half of the seventies. He could carry off the seemingly irreconcilable styles of culture and humour simultaneously. His approach was hugely influential on the new DJ school and would become the template for the up and coming dance hall style DJs. 40 years later, these recordings and lyrics are still powerful and meaningful.
