Never mind "take five": we won't be needing a count-in, when we've LA's own Laurence Mason flipping the script on lockdown with a Davy vibe check, blending two of his best, most jazz-musical obsessions: Dave Greenfield's edgy 1970s proto-punk with Dave Brubeck's cool 1960s jazz. Mason uploaded a demo of a jazzy, soulful take on The Stranglers' 'Golden Brown' to YouTube in 2020, expecting little, yet it hit a million views, sparking hundreds of release requests. Jazz Room's Paul Murphy quickly greenlit the project, resulting in the 'Take Vibe' EP, now also with a breezy, laidback retrack of The Police's 'Walking On The Moon'.
