Roy Porter, who has been active in the US jazz scene for many years, including as a member of Charlie Parker's band, recorded "Inner Feelings" and "Jessica" in the 70s with his own band Sound Machine, which are renowned as rare groove classics. In 1994, he reconstructed these two works with a new lineup, replacing some of the members of Sound Machine and adding "'94" to the name, to create this album "Generation"! Starting with "Generation" (M1), which features a rapper while retaining the texture and groove of the 70s, "Mr. RP & Me (Vocal)" (M2), which combines poetry reading with the killer funk "Panama," which has been used as a sampling source in many songs, and "Slaughterhouse" (M5), which features rap on "Party Time," also known as a sampling source, this is a crossover of jazz and hip-hop unique to the 90s! This historic masterpiece, which embodied the fusion of jazz and hip-hop that Robert Glasper and others have shown since the 2010s, is being revived in a new format!
