Following up his recently-released remixes of Scuba’s single ‘The Hope’ on Hotflush, Plagent Records boss Recondite returns to the label, this time with a solo 12” titled DRGN / Wist 365. Recalling some of the moodiest moments from ‘On Acid’, his recent LP devoted to the sounds of the 303, this debut shows Recondite stay true to his sombre and tension-inducing roots.‘DRGN’, the sonic equivalent to traversing a bleak end-of-times landscape, is a journey replete with a relentless, melodic sub-bass and vibrating synth; on the flip Recondite gives the 9-minute long ‘Wist 365’ a drum workout, resulting in a progressive, menacing groove, awash with wind chimes and 808 claps.
