This is the follow up to Exchange Sessions Volume One! Super-deep spiritual jazz duets between Kieren Hebden (AKA electronica wunderkind Fourtet) and the awesome Steve Reid! This sounds like a lost Sun Ra space jazz masterpiece! Kieren Hebden manipulates samples and found sounds to create incredibly full-sounding exotic soundscapes that melt perfectly into Steve Reid's poly-rhythmic drumming - you would never guess these were duets! Steve Reid was featured on our Universal Sounds of America compilation which showcased some of the most outstanding American indy label deep jazz from the 1970s and he is a truly fantastic jazz drummer who has played with Sun Ra, Fela Kuti and James Brown amongst others! We have reissued two of his super-rare 1970s LPs from his own Mustevic Sound label, Nova and Rhythmatism, and his latest album on Soul Jazz Records, Spirit Walk, also features Keiren Hebden alongside a full band. This album is an extension of the kind of out-there, joyous, experimental exhuberance which charcterised the last Fourtet album, Everything Ecstatic. Highly recommended!
