London poet Joshua Idehen's latest album arrives with a rare combination of levity and gravity. Built with longtime collaborator Ludvig Parment, the LP follows the viral success of 'Mum Does The Washing', a Twitter-thread-turned-spoken-word hit that propelled Idehen from two decades of poetry into festival stages at Glastonbury and Green Man.
Across 17 tracks, Parment's expansive, sometimes house-tinged beats frame Idehen's reflections on human connection, morality, and enduring bonds, amplified by contributions from Shabaka Hutchings, Pete Fraser, Amanda Bergman, and writers Leone Ross and Charlotte Manning.
From club-floor memory in 'You Wanna Dance Or What?' to contemplations of parenthood in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once,' the album emerges as commons for hard times.
