    • 1. Hit It N Quit It (Cratebug & Jamie 3:26 Edit)

This Cratebug and Jamie 3:26 revision of Loleatta Holloway's 'Hit & Run' - renamed 'Hit It 'N' Quit It' for reasons not fully explained has been doing the rounds for the best part of a decade, appearing first on a 2018 Lumberjacks in Hell compilation. Now officially issued by Salsoul, it's effectively a remix of a re-edit, with Cratebug remixing his fellow Chicagoan's killer scalpel job. The genius of Cratebug's version lies in his focus on a short, restless and relentless section - the very same section sampled by Carl Craig on techno classic 'Throw'. As a result, 'Hit It 'N' Quit It' sounds like 'Throw', minus Craig's wild organs, but with the additional of additional Loleatta vocalisations. It's a simple idea, brilliantly executed.
