Dubby Ambassah's first job as a producer after long years of working as a percussionist in some of the most serious and reputable projects regarding reggae music made in this country: Basque Dub Foundation (BDF), Loud & Lone, Lone Ark and Super Ape among others.
The album has been recorded and mixed in the “A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio” of the engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Roberto Sánchez (who also co-produces all the songs), except for the voice of Kenny Knots, which was recorded in the “Conscious Sounds” studio. ” of London, by Dougie Wardrop (Bush Chemist, Hydrophonics, etc).
“Rub A Dub Showcase Part I” is an album full of roots, dub and dancehall (in the original style of the 80's), a clear reflection of the passion that Ambassah feels for Jamaican music of the 70's and 80's (especially until 1985).
The sound of Channel One, the Roots Radics and the productions of Joe Gibbs, Junjo Lawes, Jah Thomas or Linvall Thompson and of course the great masters and pioneers of dub like King Tubby, Prince Jammy's or Scientist, that's the music, the sound that has been wanted to evoke in this work made in showcase format (vocals + dub versions).
