back to 1978 for when The Paragons, a Jamaican vocal group mostly known for rocksteady tracks, linked with Jah Stone and Tommy McCook And The Supersonics for two scorching reggae tunes. On the a-side is 'Riding High' a nice earthy and authentic roller with a pained lead and lush backing singing that gets you in a vibe. Flip it over and 'Mercy, Mercy, Mercy' is a subtly tweaked version that gives more weight to the vocals. Both are well worth copping.
