Classic left-field disco album that never was!
Formed in Bremen in 1982, Saada Bonaire was a studio project recorded at Kraftwerk's HQ, based around two icy young singers and a diverse backing band with a blend of cosmic, jazz, disco, and Turkish influences, with UK reggae legend Dennis Bovell providing dubby production techniques and American jazz legend Charlie Mariano on sax.
Eleven of these tracks went unreleased after shenanigans at EMI -- a unique record and a curous piece of German musical history, plus an infectiously groovy set of tracks. Gaining cult status through plays by Cosmic DJs such as Baldelli and Beppe Loda as well as becoming big on the Balearic scene too. Chunky synths, sitar, smooth & sexy vocals, all spaced-out and dubbed-over -- highly recommended!
