Jah Children with their adaptation of “If I Could”. Recorded and voiced in 1978 and produced by Bunny & Manzie in Jamaica alongside the cream of the crop musicians at the time which made up the Ja-Man all-stars. This beautiful roots tune is a tribute to the 1970 version by Simon & Garfunkel's “El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could)” which originally an orchestral musical piece written in 1913 and based on traditional Andean folk music from Peru. It has been estimated that around the world more than 4000 versions of the melody have been produced, along with 300 sets of lyrics, but none as hard hitting as this Jamaican roots version.
