Soundway presents a super limited edition 12" special of more dancefloor heat following on from 2018's widely acclaimed compilation 'Gumba Fire: Bubblegum Soul & Synth-Boogie in 1980s South Africa.'
New life is breathed into two, in-demand tracks that haven't been seen on vinyl since their original 1983 releases on the short-lived Heads label, which operated during the last days of disco in South Africa, as 'bubblegum' music began to emerge.
On the A-side is the original version of William & The Young Five's track "You Turn Me On (Vocal)", a stomping classic early 80s disco jam that appeared on a 12" single. William Mthethwa quickly rose to stardom in the 80s and as with many of his releases, this track was produced by renowned engineer and producer Peter Moticoe.
On the B-side is Starlight's instrumental track "Keep On Moving", one of their biggest hits and taken from their only album "Starlight" - a self-titled release rarely found on vinyl. With an infectious bassline, spaced-out synths and horn section serving up extra helpings of funk, this is a sublime slice of disco dub heat.
Only 100 copies pressed, hand-stamped and numbered.
