    • 2. Chalwah All Stars – Tell Us When (Version)

TRS say..The deep cut “Tell Us When” by vocal duo The Marijuanas (Ewart Peters & Dennis Lawrence) featuring the Chalwah Allstars is getting a long-awaited reissue. This gem is a recording from a 1976 session at Harry J’s Studio, produced by Jah T (real name Noel Young) Not to be mistaken for the other artists named Jah T active around that time.

This roots pearl isn’t just a reissue—it’s a visit to 1976, an era celebrated as the golden age of Jamaican roots music. Despite The Marijuanas short-lived collaboration, the raw passion in their vocals and the sincerity of their lyrics hint at what could have been a truly remarkable musical journey. While being one of only two releases on the short-lived Chalwah imprint, this track became a sought-after record amongst vinyl collectors. It retains its remarkable relevance, with themes that resonate just as deeply today as they did nearly five decades ago. This carefully restored reissue captures the raw energy of the original recording, offering a fresh listening experience for a new generation.
