    • 2. Fire Sticks

A cornerstone of the 70s golden era of Jamaican roots has been unearthed! The Pre-Historians’ legendary and deep “Free Yourself,” is finally getting the 7” reissue treatment it deserves. This 1975 scorcher is no ordinary tune - and in our opinion a contender for the gold standard of Roots music. Produced by Junior Smith (Roy Smith), a founding member of The Westmorelites (later The Itals) and Elias Stewart, The Pre-Historian who both hail from Savanna-la-Mar, Jamaica. “Free Yourself” lays the foundation with a message that still resonates today. More than a song, it’s a call to action.
