Originally released in 2001 as a teaser for his impeccable In Between album, German jazzy beatsmith Jazzanova's first hook up with US songsmith Vikter Duplaix is an emotive, soul-soaked broken beat classic. It's fantastic, then, to see South African label Stay True Sounds resurrect it on the occasion of it 25th birthday. We get one of the more popular reworks released back in the day - Wahoo's warm, organic deep house spin - and what appear to be three fresh revisions. First up is the FKA MASH Re-Glitch, a chunkier, warmer and more well-rounded deep house mix with delicate disco notes and plenty of soul colour, and two takes from Nutty Nys. The first is ultra-deep and woozy, with Duplaix's vocals riding delicate pianos and a hushed, sub-heavy groove, while the second sits somewhere between South African house deepness and 21st century broken beat.
