Rick Wade originally released The Funk-O-Sonic EP back in 1996 on M3, adopting the name Dr. Low-Tech for the occasion. Wade has always poured plenty of funky source material into his music, but this release went the extra mile, and FRL Classic Edition have done the right thing and got it repressed for the good of all party people everywhere. 'Discolicious' is no mystery - it's a bubbly, bouncy groover with licks a-plenty to get you moving like you didn't know you could. 'Mid-Nite' by way of contrast is a moody affair with taut drum machines and sombre, minimal keys that sets the scene perfectly for 'Night Stalker', a profound and immersive piece that ranks amongst the deepest from a true master of all things deep.
