The Who Ready Steady Who Four Ep

    1960's Records

      7"

A ten week tour of the USA supporting Herman’s Hermits was not the Who’s idea of a good way to spend the summer of 1967. “It got us around America” Daltrey would later say “but it did us no good at all.” Many felt that the Who’s performance at the Monterey festival the previous month had been neutered by their having to use borrowed gear: no such problem in Dallas with Keith Moon debuting his customised Premier ‘Pictures Of Lily’ kit bearing the legend “Patent British Exploding Drummer”. Dallas is the only performance to surface from the 1967 US tour thus far. The Who were by now the ultimate superpop singles band and the savage energy and precision of this performance makes up for the distinctly lo-fi nature of the recording. As our anonymous announcer says by way of an introduction “the most explosive group ever to come out of England…the Who!” Tracklisting Side A - Substitute, Pictures Of Lily, So Sad About Us. Side B - Boris The Spider, Happy Jack, I’m A Boy
