Experimental noise-pop, techno and ambient electronica from US native, Oneohtrix Point Never aka Daniel Lopatin, one of the forerunners of the modern electronic composition scene!
'Replica' showcases his love of polyphonic synthesizers and his trusty Roland Juno-60, an impressive album that picks up on where his 'Returnal' album left off, exploring further into darker terrain, experimenting with tape manipulation, plate reverb and sub-frequencies.
Beautiful, minimal ambient electronic passages can be heard in the deep drone of 'Andro' and start-stop bump 'Sleep Dealer'. In contrast 'Up', comes with a propulsive heavy hip hop drum loop and colliding dreamy soundscapes, and SOTU favourite 'Child Soldier' sounds like a formless cosmic being trying 2 lay down bars over a distended proto-rap instrumental.
