Since 2009, DJs Maft Sai and Chris Menist have taken the unique sounds of their 'Paradise Bangkok' events around the world. As well as sell out nights in Thailand, the pair have played in Japan, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria with more dates planned for 2012. Launched at their recent 3rd Anniversary event in Bangkok, the 'Paradise Bangkok' label seeks to unearth little known musical gems from across Asia and Africa, continuing with two pieces of heavyweight Thai action, that have been thoroughly road tested on the dancefloor. Pressed up in a limited edition of 500, the single boasts a silk screen cover and hand stamped labels, as well as being individually numbered. Paradise Bangkok PB002 Side A: Kati Sorn Jai - Nung Lamyong Kularbseemuang 3.26 Sleazy and urgent, and an absolute staple from the Paradise Bangkok setlists, this tune is always a showstopper. A late 70s Luk Thung/Talung production from the south of Thailand, replete with rasping horns and an off-beat groove, if Nung Lamyong’s vocal doesn’t get you, the nagging organ riff most certainly will! Side B: Lam Toey Dai Lao Leaw Luem Mia - Chanpen Dennapa 3.30 Built around a well known 70s pop riff, this Molam killer then tears into a percussion led piece of Isan beatdown, powered along by phin playing of the highest order. A recent discovery from the ZRM archives.
