Cementing the fact that Nonplus are one the most forward-thinking labels around right now is Instra:mental's debut album 'Resolution653'. Nonplus have had a brilliant start to the year with a continous stream of quality singles from Lowtec, Boddika and Jimmy Edgar, considering that it's Instra:mental's own label we are not surprised by the high standard of the output.
Infectious standout tracks have to be the electro x juke styles of 'Thomp' and 'When I Dip', which have been savaging dancefloors worldwide. Acid head f*ck 'Aggro Acid' and 'Talkin' Mono' give us crude analogue acid modulation at its rawest that twists and gurgles across the sound spectrum with mesmeric manipulation, whilst others such as ‘Memory Implant’, ‘Waterfall’ and ‘Plok’ take us deep into synth arrangements that have become synonymous with their name. Focusing on a slower tempo on this album having premdominately worked higher tempos, their use a combination of vintage old skool equipment mixed with modern production techniques. 'Resolution653' is a solid album from start to finish!
