Tel Aviv producer and multi-instrumentalist Kutiman joins Batov's Middle Eastern Grooves series with two blistering psych-funk workouts that blur the line between rock energy and desert trance. 'Haraka' builds from tough, tumbling drums and warped synths into a rush of spiralling bass and organ - a heat-haze of rhythm and melody. 'Khamsin', made with Ouzo Bazooka's Uri Brauner Kinrot, drifts in on a scorched groove before breaking into a feral guitar solo that cuts through like sandstorm static. Both tracks capture what Kutiman does best: translating the pulse of the region into something universal and deeply physical with music that sways like air over asphalt.
