Debut full length from Omar S' cousin and super talented Detroit techno producer Big Strick!
Choosing to release the abum on his own 7days Entertainment imprint after two killer raw techno 12" single releases on FXHE, 'Detroit Heat' is as the titled suggest, damn hot! Setting the standard from the start is tuff synth-led opener 'State Of Emergency'; Tony Coates adds the soulful flavour to 'Maybe 1 Day'; freaky baby-sampling dark house on 'Child's Play'; tuff gritty drums and soul chords on 'Fear No Fear' featuring Don Q; mesmerising chords and percussion on 'A Soldier's Story'; Omar-S supplies a stunning remix of the infamous 'What Up Doe' and this also features the much loved '100% Hustler'.
We love the low-budget, ghetto sleeve too and not to mention that it sounds like it may have been recorded on some archaic hardware, it all adds to the charm of this very highy recommended album!
