Manchester saxman Nat Birchall revisits one of his most vital works with World Without Form Volume 1, newly pressed to vinyl for the first time since its 2012 CD release.

The record marks a turning point in Birchall's spiritual jazz journey, bridging early modal recordings with the more dub-inflected meditations that would follow. The volumes notably includes 'Ithnaan' - an unreleased cut later reworked as Man From Varanasi on Cosmic Language. The ensemble here swells from quintet to septet, with Adam Fairhall on piano, Nick Blacka on bass, Paul Hession on drums, Corey Mwamba on vibraphone, and guests Jon Thorne and Andy Hay on reserve to deepen the pulse.
