Chase the Storm is Cool Up Records’ first 7″ single, which includes a brass mix on the A-side and a Dub version on the B-side. This is the seventh vinyl release from the Spanish label, after achieving a notorious international distribution in their previous releases.
In this new release we can appreciate the influence of the steppers rhythms of the late 70s, with a solid rhythm that allows The Sherlock Horns to demonstrate their musical quality. The good work of this brass section is noticeable throughout the whole song, alternating effective melodies with well executed solos. The sound of Toni Martin on trombone, Pedro Caballero on saxophone and Pepe Rincon on Trumpet makes clear the knowledge they have of Jamaican music. On Chase the Dub we find a Dub version that exposes the solid tempo of this release, spiced with surround effects and a powerful bass line that will delight Sound System fans.
