The Checkmates LTD were a group discovered by Nancy Wilson. They had a massive US hit with Phil Spector produced "Black Pearl" in 1969. The group were lead by Sonny Charles who later had a solo hit with "Put It In A Magazine". The two songs "All Alone By The Telephone" and "Body Language" were arranged and produced by H.B. Barnum and comprise their one release for Polydor in 1976.
