Shirley Nanette All Of Your Life

    Truth & Soul
    • Shirley Nanette – all of your life
    • Shirley Nanette – people are thinking
    • 1. all of your life
    • 2. people are thinking

A re-issue of this long forgotten gem originally released in 1973 by Satara, a tiny label in Portland, Oregon. Only 500 copies were originally released. Side A, “All of Your Life,” is a psychedelic dance floor burner that sounds like Marlena Shaw singing over a lost Jimi Hendrix instrumental.

Side B, “People Are Thinking” showcases Shirley Nanette’s jazzy vocals over an uptempo backing track with Ethiopian horn melodies on top of a robust soul beat. Shirley Nanette is still extraordinary. She continues to sing and perform in Portland and people who hear her work for the first time are always touched by her passion, emotion, and skill.
