Throughout the 1970s, Houston vocalist Sammie Relford released a string of brilliant singles on a variety of tiny labels most of which are rare as hen's teeth so big respect to UK based soul label Izipho Soul for bringing together some of these on a three track 45.
On the A-side you'll find the brilliant (and near impossible to find) "Breaking Ice On Love", a heartfelt chunk of sumptuous, string-drenched goodness that sounds like it was recorded at some time during the Philadelphia Soul era, and "Hey Love", one of the stand out tracks from his1979 debut album 'We are stronger together'
On the B-side is "Hook Me Up", a sensuous stepper specifically recorded for this release.
Limited copies available, this release comes with a big SOTU recommendation.
