After years locked away, this killer jazz infused funk-rock hip hop bomb by Q-Tip finally sees the light of day!
Eight years on from when this fantastic experimental album by Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest fame) was initially leaked, 'Kamaal The Abstract' is FINALLY here. Made around 2001 but was deemed far to experimental and considered not commerical enough by Arista boss, LA Reid (we are guessing he feels a bit silly now) Despite this, 'Kamaal the Abstract became a huge underground hit with every body doing their best to grab hold of the extremely limited bootleg copies around at the time.
Commendably avante-garde at its creation, unsurprisingly 'Kamaal The Abstract' seems as fresh as ever and in these hard times when hip hop is falling by the waist side is a shining ray of hope to all hip hop fans. The album has a very organic live raw jazzy funk-rock percussive feel reminscent of Prince. Includes two bonus tracks!
ACE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
