Dukey McCalla I've Got The Power

    Pressure Sounds
    • Dukey McCalla – I've Got The Power
    • 1. I've Got The Power
    • 2. I've Got The Power Version

Produced by Pat Kelly and originally released as an extremely limited pressing in 1970, Dukey McCella’s “I’ve Got the Power,” has become a cult favorite, shrouded in mystery and rumour, among serious record collectors and reggae selectors. The tune’s plaintive harmonies and the early, roots-inflected militancy of the lyrics led many well-informed fans to suspect that the tune was, in fact, The Wailers operating under an alias. However, it is not the Wailers, but Pat Kelly(singing as Dukey McCella) along with Wesley Tinglin on the soaring harmonies. Pat Kelly even gives a little DJ vibes in talking the spoken intro on the flipside. This release is first time that “I’ve Got the Power” has been reissued, lifting the veil to one of the toughest and unique tunes of Pat Kelly’s career. Comes in a hand stamped bag.
