• Overdue release of a classic long-lost 1974 album.
• With 26 tracks new to CD.
• From one of reggae music’s most popular and influential music-makers.
Having made his name as one of Jamaica’s most versatile singer-songwriters with leading vocal acts, The Charmers and The Uniques, Lloyd ‘Charmers’ Tyrell set about creating an equally long-lasting legacy as a record producer.
By the mid-1970s, he had scored numerous Jamaican best-sellers and was widely acclaimed as one of the island’s most accomplished music-makers.
In recognition of his success, leading UK-based reggae music company Trojan Records scheduled the ‘Moody & Blue’ LP, comprising a dozen of the best of Charmers’s recent works as both a performer and producer. Yet, for reasons lost in the mists of time, the album never saw issue.
Now, almost 50 years on, the collection finally receives its long overdue release with this 2CD set, which also showcases the cream of Charmers’s recordings as an artist from 1973 through to the close of the decade, with 26 tracks in total making their CD debut.
