Karriem Riggins is best known as a jazz drummer and hip-hop producer for artists like J Dilla, Common, Slum Village, Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, and The Roots.

Detroit born Karriem Riggins, was schooled by the late jazz bassist Roy Brown and has backed legends such as Hank Jones, Oscar Peterson, Milt Jackson, Donald Byrd and Ron Carter.

"Alone" is the first of two 17-track instrumental from Riggins. The 'D' sound going on here, roughly chopped, jazz and hip-hop in equal measures, using a broad, ecletic palette of samples.
